October 20, 2008 – Kendall SC’s U11G White started off the season on a very positive note, reaching the Finals of the Black Group in the 2008 West Pines Kickoff Classic after going undefeated in the first round of play. Also participating in the tournament was the U14G White who finished third in the Premier group with a 2-1-1 record.

The U11G White scored wins over Ft. Lauderdale Select (5-0) and Miami Premier Red (5-0) and tied West Pines United Gold 1-1 in the preliminary round. Unfortunately, the magic ran out in the Finals rematch against West Pines, which they lost 0-5.

For their part the U14G White looked to be on a roll after shutting out Cooper City Cobras (8-0) and Coral Spring Storm (7-0) and tying last season’s State Cup Elite Eight team, West Pines United. But with the championship on the line, they broke down in their last game losing 0-3 to Pinecrest Premier.
